Weaver's Cottages at Horsefair, Kidderminster

The cottage is a rare survival of a house with a top floor workshop dating from the early 1700s, probably built for weavers, it is unique in Kidderminster. The horse sculpture is for the Kidderminster Horse Fair which moved here from the town centre in 1690 and continued to be held four times a year for the next 130 years. The Horse Fair was where you could buy and sell work horses, carriage horses, fine ponies and horses for the army. Where the horse statue now stands there was a pond where the horses could drink.
