A colourful collection of lines and squiggles has been sprayed onto the tarmac all along here. At a guess, it's going to get dug up and this is showing where all the cables and drains and stuff are buried. Or else it's directions to the hieroglyphics conference at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn is a grand original hotel building dating from 1902. Only the side elevation is seen here. It's more impressive round the front.
