On the left is the end of Cross Mill but the image is largely of the Grade II* Listed dyehouse from the mid-1850s. This was later converted to a barley drying house for the maltings. The elevator tower on the left and the two hoists on the right extending over a former railway siding date from the maltings period. The building has a composite cast and wrought iron roof. The various buildings on site show a spread of structural ironwork from 1796-7 up to the 1850s.
