This is the Grade I Listed Ditherington Mill, Shrewsbury that was built in 1796-7. The three rows of cast iron columns support cast iron beams supporting the brick arched fireproof floor. This 5-storey mill is regarded as the progenitor of modern skyscrapers. The centre row has provision for carrying a steam engine driven lineshaft to operate the flax processing machinery.
