Old Run Road, Hunslet

An oddly named road, but the name is an old one: when the Middleton Railway opened in 1758, there was a winding engine at Old Run Cottages, and according to a local history website, on 24th June 1812 a public trial of what became the world's first commercially viable steam railway took place taking coal from Middleton pit down Old Run Road.
