The Newcastle-under-Lyme Local Plan published in 2021 aroused some concern in Audley with proposals for 'Green Belt release for development of strategic sites' in the parish, and views were sought specifically on a potential large (170 ha) employment site located in Green Belt off Moat Lane/Park Lane, Audley.
