The main, relatively new, facility for the Heart of Shropshire Eggs. Planning Permission was granted in 2019. According to their official website www.heartofshropshireeggs.co.uk : "The modern state of the art laying unit consists of nest boxes, drinkers and feeders at three different levels, with multiple perch bars allowing the birds to roost as high as they desire, leaving it as one of the highest welfare systems in the world. Following on to the Packing station, with modern egg handling technology along with the assistance of a robotic palletiser to finish the process, providing yourselves with the highest quality product." "Approximately 60% of the electricity used is produced from the 50Kw array solar system. Over 650 native trees planted consisting of Oak, Silver Birch, Hornbeam, Alder & Rowan. All manure is used on the arable side of the farm, resulting in no purchasing of muck and minimal imports of fertilisers."
