I can't find planning files for the houses but they show some resemblance to 8 and 10 by architect J T Drury. This pair, Elm House, no.4 and Brookland House, no.6 unlike 8 and 10 appear to have been built at the same time. However the 1885 directory includes No.4 with William Robey but I can't locate no.6. The 1872 directory has only one house (no.21) on the street, dating No.4 at least to the intervening period. By 1889 John Francis Bodycoat is listed as being at no.6. Can we infer from this the pair was built 1885-1886?
