A footpath follows the river bank through the Roding Valley Meadows Nature Reserve. Here somebody has taken advantage of this easy access to attach a rope to a large oak tree for swinging out over the water. The River Roding flows for 31 miles from Molehill Green in Essex to the Thames via Barking Creek.
