I was struck by the facade of this building. It is ornate, and lettered "Manchester & Salford Street children's mission". What a difference a century and a bit makes. We still have charities to care for the homeless and abandoned, but they do not proclaim themselves in art nouveau exuberance like this. The building now houses a health spa of some sort.
