The architect was responsible for much of Weston and Clevedon's appearance in the late Victorian era. Price (1835–1912) was born in Bristol and studied in Liverpool under Thomas Barry, before returning to Somerset and establishing his own practice. His designs included several different styles and used a wide range of materials, leading to an eclectic body of work. The Town Market Hall has a fairly modern appearance and Historic England describes the top as 'The apex of the roof supports a miniature hipped slate roof with cresting and finials. A square lantern with blocked windows, pyramidal top and weathervane rises above.' Grade II listed from 1976; see Image] for a wider view.
