Across the road from Church House Image a flight of steps leads up to the east end of Holy Trinity Church. On the wall at the foot of the steps three Rectors of the church and their wives are commemorated on five tiles, framed by an arch. Top: In Memory of William Riland Bedford, died July 6, 1843. Grace Campbell Bedford, died March 27, 1875. Upper left: In Memory of W.C.Riland Bedford. Rector of this Parish, 1892-1908. Born May 29th 1852, Died Aug.15th 1922. Upper right: In Memory of W.K.Riland Bedford / For 42 Years Rector of this Parish. Born July 12th 1826, Died Jan.23rd 1905. Centre: In Memory of Amy wife of W.K.R.Bedford, died November 29, 1890. / Sara viro, Mundo Martha, Maria Deo. Lower left: In Memory of Eleanor Phoebe / Wife of W.C.R.Bedford / Born Jan 3 1852 / Died Sep.15,1928 The eldest son of William Riland Bedford, W.K.Riland Bedford, was Rector from 1850 to 1892. His son, W.C.Riland Bedford, was Rector from 1892 to 1908. The first four tiles appear of identical design and age. The fifth reproduces the design in mosaic. Research continues.
