Buildings at the junction of Tooting High Street (on the left) and Mitcham Road (on the right). The buildings here (or at least ones of the same profile) are marked on the 1874 6 inch map, with the name of a short first section of Mitcham Road (then Church Street) being shown as Broadway, hence the name of the adjacent (but much later) Underground station. The name Broadway continued to be shown until the 1954 1:10:000 map (by then shown as Tooting Broadway) but had disappeared by the 1968 edition.
