Opened in 1898 as "West Shefford" by the Lambourn Valley Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway, on its branch from Newbury to Lambourn, this station was renamed "Great Shefford" in 1900. It closed to passengers in 1960. View north west towards East Garston and Lambourn. The view is along the former passenger platform, with the railway track having been to the right of it, roughly following the hedge. The house in the background roughly marks the far end of the platform. No trace of the station apparently remains.
