The old drovers road narrows just behind the photographer and then follows the road here down past Brunton House towards Austwick and Feizor and along the walled garden to the house. The house may have been an Inn in 1840 but when the route down over Buck Haw Brow was made directly to the A65 the road became a back road again and there would have been little passing trade. http://www.northcravenheritage.org.uk/nchtjournal/Journals/2005/Brunton/Brunton.html
