House built c.1840 which for many years served as a rectory. In the 1920s the then owner, Sir Samuel Barrow, owner of a tanners and leather merchants in Bermondsey, sold it to Carshalton Urban District Council. Having been used as Council offices (latterly Sutton Borough Council) for many years, it is now proposed to convert it to social housing.
