It has been BetFred since at least 2008. It looks as though it might have been a bank. An old town map shows the London Hotel here. Its successor (possibly a bank) was given a curved frontage to ease the constriction the hotel created at this junction where the Strand, left, met Piermont Place becoming Exeter Road up the hill.
