The "Cafe on the Square" at #15 used to be "The Pancake House" Image and before that it was "Thomas Cook" Image and previously "Going Places". The 17th century building is Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1150158?section=official-list-entry "Big Bites" sandwich bar at #14 is also Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1150157?section=official-list-entry The left hand part of the Yorkshire Trading Co was Currys until around 2015.. The railings are decorated with crocheted poppies. The display is a resultt of the Ripon Community Poppy Project https://ripon.mumbler.co.uk/the-ripon-community-poppy-project/ which sees beautiful knitted or crocheted poppies around the city to honour fallen soldiers on Remembrance Sunday. The display has become an annual event.
