A 19thC lodge on the Spottiswoode Estate ['Trumpeter's Lodge' on the OS map] https://canmore.org.uk/site/55825/spottiswoode-west-lodge. Above the gable window is a carved inscription [see also Image], which is said to have originated from the Archbishop Spottiswoode's house in Glasgow https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200351332-west-lodge-spottiswoode-westruther#.Y1qgRiPMLGg.
