This is the strangest road I have come across, and only the second time this has happened to me. Victoria Dock Road is a main road, and with absolutely no notice it suddenly ends, right here. The barrier suggests it used to finish somewhere, but someone in the council decided they didn't like it and simply shut it off. The only other example I know is the road from the old A5 to Luton which ends in Luton Airport, a dual carriageway suddenly ends in a roundabout whose only exit is the airport, the only way to avoid it is to take a left turn at the previous junction but there is no clear signage not to go ahead except for a no through road at the airport. Worse still Caxton Street to the right doesn't go anywhere, but 3/4 of the way up becomes one way but there are no no entry signs (which means it isn't by law), only no entry painted on the road which is not visible to anyone looking ahead.
