The Moor Pool Estate is a Garden Suburb founded by John Sutton Nettlefold between 1907 and 1912 consisting of around 500 houses built across 54 acres. One of the estate's distinguishing features was the provision of allotment gardens for the residents. Later on, garage courts were built on some areas of allotments, although in time some of these were allowed to fall into disrepair and some have been redeveloped. My wife's parents kept their car in one of the garages in this court. They and their family lived and rented on the estate for over 110 years. See http://moorpoolhall.org.uk/heritage/history.html for history of the estate. The bunting is in place because there was a heritage open day when this picture was taken.
