Preaching Cross, Down Ampney

The base of this Preaching Cross in Down Ampney is 14th century; the pillar and head is a 19th century replica. The pillar and head were erected in 1875 as a memorial to Paul Butler of Down Ampney House who died in a hunting accident at the age of 56.
