The group operating this narrow-gauge waterworks railway have ambitious plans but so far have only built a short loop and your ticket buys you three circuits behind this narrow-gauge steam locomotive. The locomotive Darent is an 0-4-0ST built by Andrew Barclay of Kilmarnock in 1903 as No. 984. It worked at Provan Gasworks in Scotland until closure in 1959 and was 2'6" gauge as built but has now been regauged to 2'. It came to this site in 2013 and is a regular performer on open days.
