Bristol Zoo closed this summer, but to mark the event a large sculpture was commissioned. Using recycled wood from Westonbirt Arboretum, a 7m (23ft) high work of a mother and baby gorilla were brought to the lawn. The baby's name was inspired by a national park in Equatorial Guinea where the Bristol Zoological Society works to protect western lowland gorillas in the wild. The gorilla is interactive: every few minutes drums sound and the mother 'eats' some juicy lettuce - spraying those close by with a shower of water!
