The area on the south banks of the Avon have long been home to breweries, some of which were founded in Bristol. Now most of the big brick factories and warehouses are gone (save for those converted into apartments) and some new office space has replaced them. Bridgewater House is new offices for the B.B.C. Curiously, they are directly opposite the new Channel Four offices.
