Pictured looking east from the Legavallon Road. This building which originally was a church, was built in the 1840's, as a successor to Tannyranny Church. When St Matthew's Church in Drumsurn was built, the church was closed and re-opened in 1902 as a school for all denominations. Galvin school was closed in 1967 and it operated as a youth club, but ceased when the building became unsafe. Gelvin Community Association purchased the building in 1998 and carried out improvements to the building. Many of the original church features have been restored, including some of the headstones in the old graveyard.
