Introduction
The photograph on this page of Merseyway works by Gerald England as part of the Geograph project.
The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The centre of Merseyway is undergoing extensive works. Shoppers are being forced to walk around one side or the other. At least the benches have been outside the hoardings. On the hoardings are various posters about how the shops are remaining accessible and showing impressions of how marvellous Stockport will look once all the various works have been completed. This view is from the end of Adlington Walk.
