Work is taking place here to extend the tram line to Newhaven which will give this area better public transport links with the city centre; although the current bus service is frequent, it is slow and often affected by traffic congestion. The projected opening date is spring 2023 and in the meantime pedestrians have to pick their way around the works as the signs direct.
