According to the 'Huddersfield exposed' website, there was originally a White Lion hotel on Kirkgate but by 1822 it had been rebuilt on Cross Church Street, and was remodelled in a Mock Tudor style in the early 1900s. Image shows it still under that name in 1962, but it is now the 'revolution' bar. The building to the right is also a former pub, the Sun Inn, now the Carousel cocktail bar. Neither of them is listed.
