The elegant church was founded in 1906-7 to designs by Latrobe and Weston of Bristol, and built by Wakeham Brothers of Plymouth, costing £7,000. Methodism had been brought to Portland in the late eighteenth century and there were other sites used until this church was consecrated. Grade II* listed.
