The path runs along the edge of Wormwood Scrubs Park; over the wall is the well-known prison, built between 1874 and 1891 by convict labour. It was designed by Sir Edmund Frederick Du Cane. Today it is a category B prison for adult males. The notice on the wall urges the public to confidentially report any sightings of objects being thrown over into the prison grounds.
