The platforms at Milngavie Station were extended in 2020. A five-month programme of work was undertaken by Network Rail. Both platforms have been lengthened from 141m to 205m to accommodate more trains. This will help improve performance by allowing the ‘stabling’ of trains and to allow some trains to have more time between arrival and departure. The aim is to offer a more efficient and better performing service on the Glasgow North Electrics suburban line, which operates from Helensburgh and connects to the East Coast suburban network and the Argyle lines to Lanarkshire.
