Hospital, designed by Edward Lower with advice from Florence Nightingale, originally opened in 1866 as the Royal Surrey County Hospital, until this moved to its present site on Egerton Road in 1979. Following redevelopment in 2013-5, it is now a specialist mental health hospital.
