The memorial drinking fountain drinking fountain stands on the village green opposite Allendale Library and is dated 1902. It is Grade II Listed. Trooper John Joseph Glendinning gave his life on 7 March 1902 in the Anglo-Boer (or South African) War (1899-1902).
