On Blackburn Road (A666). The Thomas Egerton pub (at the top left and at an angle to the road) was formerly known as The Globe. It was renamed after Sir Thomas Egerton, baronet, who was a land owner in the area when the village was being developed in the 1830s as John and Edmund Ashworth set up their cotton mill here.
