For 25 years after the railway bridge feel from use, the old level crossing gates were all it took to prevent people walking on the trackbed. But by the 21st century the risks were too high, and these steel industrial barriers were erected across the old trackbed to close off the structure. Trees and shrubs have grown to make it even more impenetrable. Modern man has seized the opportunity to affix permeant advertisements, and the rules on flyposting appear not to apply. The road way here was, of course, once a level crossing.
