This was once part of the long drive to Newbold Comyn House from Leamington Priors village south of the river. It was lined with great oaks and elms whose spreading roots made for a hazardous walk let alone a carriage ride. This avenue of limes was the replacement, believed to have been planted in the 1880s. The Holly Walk celebrated in the early guidebooks to the spa may have been an older formal feature further on but the name has drifted west.
