As far as I am aware this building used to a factory or some sort of mill. Unfortunately I've no further details & one of the local people couldn't tell me either. However, to me it looks as if it could have been a workhouse as it has that air about it. Update Feb 2025 - confirmed that it was indeed the Atcham Union Workhouse, built in 1792/93, and Grade II listed in 1986
