Both premises have a separate Grade II Listing but both use the same text. The site has been occupied from early in the 17th century at least and at one time a poors' tenement known as Chelsea Barracks here. The present building has an institutional character but little is known about it. Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust describe it as a post medieval barracks. The National Monuments Record of Wales online database describes it as 18th century. My 1895 directory lists them as two houses. Currently (2022) no.17 carries a sign as the offices of Azets accountants and had previously been Baldwins Accountants.
