This pillbox stands in the corner of a field on the eastern side of the Usk river valley overlooking the Chain Bridge. It is a type 25 pillbox being circular format and unable because of its small size to accommodate an internal anti-ricochet wall. Sadly, with the passage of the time much of the brick work is now crumbling. Originally, it was one of several pillboxes constructed in 1940 along this stretch of the Usk all on the east bank and looking to a potential invader from the west.
