A view north of the Midland Main Line at Sharnbrook where the fast tracks (left) and slow tracks (right) begin to diverge to cross Sharnbrook Summit. The fast tracks take the steeper route over the summit, whilst the slow tracks go through Sharnbrook Tunnel on an easier grade. There are junctions here to allow trains to change tracks if necessary.
