New Road

This must have been a new road at some point in the mid to late 19thC as it isn't shown on first edition OS maps. The straight course flanked by ruler straight field boundaries mark this as a road constructed at the time of parliamentary enclosures. The 1854 map shows this as open ground with a number of tracks converging on the school.
