Between the Audi salesroom and Pear Tree Farm on Stockport Road Image is a small plot of cleared land. In the middle of the well-kept mown grass is a wooden bench. The plaque on the bench Image reads: "In Loving memory of Brenda Spencer 3 Jun 1942 - 28 October 2012 Happy Memories of childhood days in Polebank" Historically there was a small row of cottages and a clock tower on this plot of land.
