The Grade II listing for this dignified house opposite the churchyard begins "Farmhouse built in 1830 by Stephen Gardiner, builder. Clunch walls faced with white gault brick. Hipped slate roof, end stacks". The attached outbuildings are also of clunch, a kind of chalk once used as building stone hereabouts.
