Leading from High Street to Oak Street in the Northern Quarter it is home to a number of eateries of different kinds. When restrictions were brought in during the height of the coronavirus pandemic the street was closed to traffic and tables and chairs were laid out to allow al fresco dining. Although the restrictions have been lifted, the popularity of eating in the street has led to a continuation of the practice.
