One of the more magnificent church buildings in Bournemouth, it is part of the Winchester Diocese. It was designed by the architect John Loughborough Pearson and is said to resemble Truro Cathedral in part. Construction took some time, with the nave being finished in 1881 to 1883, the chancel 1896 to 1897 and the tower being finished in 1907. Created from Purbeck and Bath stones, it is Grade I listed.
