Short street linking Iffley Road and Cowley Road, from whence this shot was taken. The name derives from its being the site of a travelling show, Newsome's Alhambra Circus, that occasionally visited and set up here in the mid C19 before the street was built. The Private Shop goes back a few decades too, one of the first such outlets to be established.
