Bournemouth and Boscombe have had a handful of council-run electric barbeques installed along the seafront since last year. They are free to users who want some freshly cooked beach grub before getting onto the sands. With disposable barbeques being a problem (they are now only permitted on the beach after 6pm) the council hope these facilities will reduce the litter and mess. It may well be handy for the lifeguards too. It is hoped the users will keep it clean and tidy, although it is open to the gulls of course.
