Amersham Old Town: Gilbert Scott Court (1)

This gothic building in flint with brick facings was originally constructed as the Union Workhouse between 1838 and 1839 to the designs of Sir George Gilbert Scott. Around 1930 it became Amersham Hospital but on completion of the new hospital further up Whielden Street it was sold off for residential purposes. For a picture taken 6 minutes later see Image
