Someone's knocked a hole in the pipe to see what it contains. Many people I have spoken to have no idea of the purpose of these pipes. There is no obvious maker's mark but it was once topped with a crown as seen on its neighbour, just 67 yards away. Image A few more rust holes are apparent in the upper stages of the pipe.
